β€” INVESTING IN WINE

True diversification, backed by scarcity.

Fine wine offers investors access to a tangible global market driven by scarcity, provenance and collector demand rather than traditional financial markets. EWI Group uses 15 years of industry relationships and market expertise to build bespoke portfolios, acquiring exceptional wines at compelling entry prices and holding them securely in professional bonded storage.

THE ASSET

A focused, established market within fine wine

Not every fine wine is investment grade. EWI Group focuses on a select group of sought-after producers and vintages with established secondary markets, transparent pricing and consistent global demand.

Every acquisition is assessed against producer, vintage, critic scores, scarcity, historical pricing and drinking window. Highly rated wines from exceptional vintages can command significant premiums, making selection and entry price critical.

As bottles are consumed, supply naturally diminishes, creating increasing scarcity over time. All wines are professionally stored in bond at London City Bond, preserving provenance and condition until sale.

Three inefficiencies most buyers never see.

"Roughly 85% of fine wine moves through bespoke negociant (wine merchant) and distributor agreements, arrangements most buyers never see past.”

THE MARKET CASE

Fragmented Pricing

Fine wine moves through nΓ©gociants, distributors, merchants and private channels, creating pricing differences between markets. The same wine can trade at materially different levels, creating opportunities for buyers with the relationships and knowledge to source efficiently.

Restricted Access

Many of the world’s leading producers distribute through tightly controlled networks of regional agents and merchants. Longstanding relationships across the UK and Europe provide access to stock and pricing that is not always available through the wider market.

Cash-Buyer Advantage

The wine trade is traditionally reliant on credit and working capital. When merchants need to release capital or move larger parcels quickly, buyers able to transact immediately can secure preferential pricing and off-market opportunities.

ROUTES IN, ROUTES OUT

Multiple avenues, on both sides.

Entry

Negociants, established UK wine merchants, Liv-ex (fine wine's premier trading platform), and direct purchase at source across Burgundy, Champagne, Italy, RhΓ΄ne, Australia and the US.

Exit

Liv-ex, UK and Hong Kong auction houses including Sotheby's, Christie's, Bonhams and Zachys, established UK wine merchants, and EWI's own network of historical clients built up over 15 years.

HOW EWI SOURCES AND PROTECTS

Three principles, applied to every purchase

SOURCING

15 years of relationships with producers, nΓ©gociants and trusted merchants provide access to exceptional wines and off-market opportunities - often sourced closer to origin rather than through the open market

PRICING

Every acquisition is assessed against market pricing, critic scores, vintage, scarcity and historical performance. The quality of the asset matters, but the price we pay is fundamental.

PROVENANCE

Every wine is professionally stored in bond at London City Bond, with provenance and condition protected throughout ownership and any transfer between bonded warehouses.
